Sad news and a change to our service

It is with great sadness that we made the difficult decision to close our office in New Addington on Friday 25th November 2016.  Unfortunately the grant provided by Croydon Council does not enable us to continue to operate from two offices so we have moved our staff and volunteers to our office in South Norwood.  We are currently looking to provide outreach services in New Addington and also at other locations around the borough in the future.

We opened our office in Overbury Crescent on 25th February 1980 and for almost 40 years we have been proud to assist local people with their problems, both large and small.  The demand for our service has always been high and when our "waiting corridor" became too small we built and opened our current reception in 1997.  The advent of computers has made it easier for people to obtain the advice the need on-line and, in turn, we have moved from providing advice from an enormous shelving unit of folders containing advice on every subject you can imagine, and which had to be updated every month by diligent volunteers, to an on-line database updated centrally by Citizens Advice.   We are now able to provide advice by email and on-line as well as face-to-face and over the telephone.

Everyone associated with the office at New Addington was very sad to leave and we will miss being a part of the amazing community that is New Addington.
